"I have been asked to announce the Award for Best Couple.". Nodding to himself, he continued, "Matters of Heart... most of you know that I am a very personal, I like to start off with telling you all who the nominies are...

 

Bellina and Vermathrax-Rex

Devereaux and Raven

Green Mayo and eufrozyne

Sartori and Persephony

Poppy and Marcus"

He opens the envelope and takes out the letter, "Matters of Heart...
this result pleases me, its a TIE!". His mouth smiles, "The Winners
are Bellina - Vermathrax-Rex and Sartori - Persephony!". "Please come up here and accept your Golden Fang Award...". Heimdag looks around for Jauk to hand over the awards.

Persephony blinked, sure she had heard the results wrong. She glanced over at those around her, and turned to look at Sartori, who was laughing his ass off. "No, I heard that wrong, didn't I? That can't be right..."

Sartori had been waiting for Cap to emerge with his "ghost with the
most" award, intent on stealing it, and replacing Cap's name with his
own, but his mind was distracted as he heard the announcement for the best couple being read out. "Seph and i are in that.. arn't we?" he
thought to himself as he laid aside his chloroform to listen to the
winner.

"its a TIE!. The Winners are Bellina - Vermathrax-Rex and Sartori -
Persephony!"

He started laughing uncontrolably, and inwardly wondered if he heard
that right. A glance to his right, and a nod to Persephony confirmed it. "Oh you're kidding me.... who the hell would vote for us?"   Persephony asked, her face going red, and she leaned into Sartori's shirt, hiding her laughter and her blushing.

"I dunno..." he started, "clearly someone did..."

As she leaned into him he said with a smile - "C'mon then, lets get up there and claim it." 

"Oh no... no no no.... on stage? With people? People watching???"

Sartori nodded repeatedly as he tugged at her arm and started towards the steps to the stage here Heimdag was presenting the award. "Ohh yeah, on the stage."

Giggling madly, she let him pull her towards the stage, and hopped
onto his back, wrapping her arms around his neck as he carried her.

 

"I don't really want to share the pretty award... do you? " she whispered softly, laughing.

Sartori's hands instinctively caught her legs as they hugged him
tightly. He slowly walked up the steps to the stage and whispered back - "you read my mind....hehe."

He stepped just to the side of Heimdag and the podium and whispered once more to Persephony, "just play along babes..."

Stepping up the the podium, and handing Persephony the award, Sartori spoke, "Ladies and gentlemen, friends, family, and people we either don't know or don't like... We'd like to thank you all so very much for this award, truly, and deeply, this is a wonder for us to behold.... We'd also like to thank Bell and D for riding along on this one with us.  However, we have places we need to be... So once again folks, thank you so very much for this... fare thee well."

With that the couple seemed to explode in a blinding shower of
dandelions, which sprayed all over the stage and audience. The words "We're going ta' Vegas baby!" could be heard among the gasps and screams.  When the dandelions had all settled, the couple were of course gone,  but a piece of paper remained on the podium... it read - "To Bellina and Vermathrax, I owe you, one half of the best couple 2005 award. Thanks again guys
